I was privileged to attend a reception this week in N. Texas; hosted by Homes for Our Troops USA. A U.S.Army Veteran is getting a new house specially adapted to his needs.
On Sept. 3, 2012, Staff Sergeant Reynolds was on his second deployment when he stepped on an improvised explosive device; (IED) in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. SSG Reynolds is now medically retired and going back to school to work on an Economics degree.
The new home will lift a burden caused by a standard home that is normal for most people but is very difficult to navigate due to the loss of a limb.
SSG Reynolds has decided to move to Texas from Pennsylvania do to the warmer weather in Texas and to be close to his wife’s family.
Please visit the Homes for Our Troops website here and donate to such a great cause. Honoring our wounded veterans. You can be such a blessing to our men and women in uniform and their families.
Here is a picture of one of the local sponsors that donated to install the electrical utility lines from the street to the new house. Homes for Our Troops can always use another partner.
To date, 287 homes have been built for Veterans, and over 90% of all donations go directly to building these homes.
Of course, you can find out more about this awesome charity and the deserving soldiers that have sacrificed for our country. Click here for more information.
